Chart settingsWhole sign · true nodes
Lunar nodes

True follows the Moon’s orbit as it wobbles; mean is its smoothed path, up to 1.7° away.

Lilith

Mean is the usual Black Moon; true swings up to 30° either side of it.

Show on the chart

The Sun, Moon and planets are always shown. The Part of Fortune and the Vertex need a birth time.

Aspects

Orbs

How far from exact an angle may be and still count. Standard allows 8° for the major aspects (6° for the sextile); tight takes about 2° off, wide adds about 2°.

Sun and Moon

Extra orb when the Sun or Moon is in the aspect, as many astrologers allow for the two lights; +2° is common. Minor aspects get half as much.

Two points at the same height north or south of the sky’s equator: on the same side a parallel (, read like a conjunction), on opposite sides a contraparallel (, read like an opposition). Listed in the table, not drawn on the wheel.

Semi-sextile (30°), semi-square (45°), quintile (72°), sesquiquadrate (135°) and quincunx (150°), with small orbs. They are drawn as thinner lines.

Orb for each aspect
Take part in aspects

The Sun, Moon and planets always do. A point hidden from the chart has no aspects either, and the angles need a birth time.

Transits and progressions

Orb for transits and progressions

How far from exact an aspect from a transit or a progression to the birth chart may be. A degree is usual.

Changes apply to the chart straight away and are remembered in this browser.
